Finally kids from all kinds of families and their friends have someone they can relate to – Dottie, the lovable silly star of Dottie’s Magic Pockets.
This ground-breaking, grassroots kids show started as a labor of love by one mom. Dottie has now screened at a dozen international film festivals including SF’s Frameline, LA’s Outfest, Toronto, Melbourne, and London, is available in 100+ public libraries, and is ready to be part of your library!
The features two fabulous episodes – Doing the Flower & Beet Beat (50 minutes total running time):
“Doing the Flower”
Randal the Beaver has petal envy! After he decides he would rather be a flower than a beaver, Motilda says she would rather be a Dottie than a mouse! Even James wants to change – into a construction worker! Soon, however, with the help of Dottie, everyone realizes they are perfect just the way they are.
“Beet Beat”
A catchy rap song clears up some confusion about “words that sound the same but have different meanings.” But nothing can clear up Motilda’s hiccups – and every time she hiccups, a bop appears! In the end, Dottie saves the day by bringing out the Magic Hiccup Hat!
The DVD is also available from Amazon.com where one reviewer says:
“My daughter … sings all the songs, does the word challenges, says goodbye to Dottie when she has to go… [the DVD] is FUN, CUTE, IMAGINATIVE, PLAYFUL and a TOUCH of QUEER SENSIBILITY…”
